a little behind...

we landed at 10 am on friday at london heathrow

day one over here was a success. i knew it would be! we've only been here for 24 hours and we've taken 150 photos... and that is a low estimate. here are my tops memories from friday for you to enjoy!

amy and christian-
finally we were reunited with them! i didn't realize how much i've missed them. amy was waiting at the subway stop with a smile and a hug. a big hug. we've loved exploring their new life. i {love} their life. i stopped counting how many times emily has said, "i can't believe you LIVE here." they are locals.

the accent-
i can't get enough of the british accent. i wish it would stick with us when we returned home. we've had quite a fun {and funny} time imitating it. only trying to fit in!

the market-
amy took us to this market. it is called burough market.it was a food market that had everything from fresh foods to cooked foods. after looking at each stand and talking to locals, we grabbed some lunch and sat on a bench to eat it. should i even mention that we were surrounded by sprouting dafodils?!? it was picturesque.

weather-
we had beautiful weather in london on friday. skirt and cardigan... yes please. the sun was out just for us. i'm convinced.

walking-
we did a ton of walking. i stopped estimating after 10 miles! it felt great to walk everywhere. we walked along the river back and forth.

fish and chips-
there is no better way to start off a vacation. amy made reservations at an english pub on the water. the ambiance alone makes you want to stay for the entire evening. i loved the pub life.

big ben and parliament at night-
after dinner we continued to walk the city. we walked along the river until we got to parliament. it was beautiful and did not disappoint! i love that part of london and it will forever be one of my favorite sites! how can i not think of peter pan when i see that clock tower?

the beatles-
how can you not hum their songs while you stroll the streets? we sang some of their songs.

the bridges-
tower bridge, london bridge, we kept crossing bridges. i could get used to living near water.

late night fun-
did you think that we would be tired from flying? well our bodies were a little messed up, but that didn't stop us! we didn't get back to amy's till late that night. we didn't head to bed. amy's famous rice krispies were made and we stayed up until 1 am. chatting, laughing, and hanging out. great first night of the trip!

--------------------
the next day we rode the train to paris
on the train ride i gave emily a short french lesson. i taught her the phrases that are important

: : hello
: : please
: : i will have a crepe

there is a quick update for you
.....and that was just one day.....
